Artz Showcase Day

A Chance for All Our Students to Shine!

Sunday August 24th, 2016. Starts 11:00am Get ready for your chance to sing &/or dance in front of your fans our terrific in-house Showcase Day. At the Artz Collective, we believe in developing our students, step by step in their performance skills and ability. This is another of the small steps that make up their journey to the big stage.

All students are invited, whether group classes or solo competition students to come along & present your class work & hone your performance skills from this wonderful Artz Family day, celebrating the amazing leaps & bounds our students have taken throughout the year. Participation certificates with personalised comments are awarded from our adjudicator for every student who participates.

What do I wear?

This is an in-house day, so just come along looking sparkling & fantastic in your full class uniform. Nothing else is required, no jewellery, please have your hair off your face & tidy as you would for class or exam - a bun is required for ballet students.

FAQ SHEET:

How Do I Enter? Fill in your entry form & return it to reception ASAP. If you are unsure of which section to enter, ask your teacher or read the section breakdown attached to your entry form or on the noticeboard in the waiting room. If you return your form late, you make us run late, as we can only schedule according to the returned forms on the closing date for entries.

How do I know I'm ready to perform?  Your teacher will have recommended to you that you do Showcase Day, either in a group, or in a duo or trio - or if you're ready, as a solo performer. If you have questions, please ask your teacher, or at reception & we will follow it up with them and get back to you.

How many guests & family can I bring to watch me perform? As many as you like. Your Family charge covers entry for you and all of yours!

Can I come & watch if I  / my child is not performing? Yes, if you are a student or family member of a student, you sure can! Please pay your Family entry to the Food Stall Kiosk for your entry stamp.

Can I chat to the adjudicator or simply have a quiet word with them?

No unfortunately this is not correct etiquette at all! You can smile and say good morning or good afternoon, and certainly "Thank-you", but no other communication with any adjudicator is allowed. And this goes for any competitions you will attend, wherever they are. Whatever the adjudicator sys on their report is their choice and we respect their decision, derived by their own training and career.

If there food available? Yes there will be some hot food, drinks & snacks available on the day at our food stall. However, as we do not allow eating or coloured drinks  in the dance studios, you will need to eat in the green room (couches) area between the studios.

What food & drinks can we eat while watching? The only food or drinks allowed in the showcase Day venue (Studio 1) is water. Everything else must be consumed in the green room between the dance studios or in the waiting room.

When do we get our certificates? Certificates are given out during the results section, see the schedule above.

Can we talk in the performance room? Unfortunately, whilst they are performing, chitter chatter is really distracting for the students as they are concentrating so hard to give you their best - so no, whilst a child is dancing or singing we ask you are respectful and quiet. If you do want to have a chat with another parent or family member we ask that you leave the performance room.

Where will Irish Dance Hard Shoe routines be performed? Irish Dance Hard shoe (Jig shoe) dances will be done in STUDIO 2 due to the special flooring installed to cope with the demands of hard shoe dancing. Please keep studio 2 clear throughout the day.
